China Culture Tour Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: USA- Beijing             Thu & Fri Oct 15 & 16
Nonstop flight from San Francisco to Beijing. Arrive in Beijing in the evening on Friday, Oct 18. Transfer to hotel, relax and enjoy the evening in Beijing.

Day 3: Beijing – Beidaihe         Sat Oct 17 (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will travel by motor coach to Beidaihe to begin our study.

Instructor: Feng Jiming Lao-shi, a student of the late legendarily Grandmaster Li Jingwu, has studied and practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 20 years in the areas of acupuncture, Tui Na, and moxibustion. He specializes in the diseases of the neck, shoulder, waist, hip joint, and feet as well as post-stroke syndromes. He is the on-call Tui Na physician for Chinese government officials vacationing in the seaside resort town of Beidaihe. Feng Lao-shi has taught qigong and acupuncture in Indonesia and Eroupe. In addition to teaching and clinical work, Feng Lao-shi is the Chairman of the Department of Acupuncture and Tui Na, as well as the Chief Instructor of Tai Chi Studies at the National Medical Qigong Beidaihe Education Center.

Day 4-8: Beidaihe           Sun-Thu Oct 18- 22 (B, L, D)
Study Taiji Rejuvenation Qigong.

Day 9: Beidaihe – Beijing                     Fri Oct 23

After breakfast, we will travel by motor coach back to Beijing to join the Culture Tour.

Day 10-11: Datong                     Sat-Sun Oct 24-25 (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we fly to Datong, Shanxi Province. Tour Yungang Grottoes. The Yungang grottoes were included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 2001. Over 50,000 figures are contained in the 21 major and 32 smaller caves. We will also tour the Nine Dragon Screen, a 50-yard long Ming Dynasty mosaic of glazed tiles and Huayan Monastery.

Day 12: Datong – Mt Wutai                     Mon Oct 26 (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we drive to Mt Wutai. On the way, we visit Hanging Monastery. It was originally built more than 1400 years ago. There are 40 halls and pavilions in all. They were built along the contours of the cliffs using the natural hollows and out crops for support. The buildings rest on timbers jutting out from the cliff, their weight further supported by vertical beams. And then we will tour the Wooden Pagoda of Yingxian County, the oldest and largest pagoda of China.

Day 13: Mt Wutai – Taiyuan                    Tue Oct 27 (B, L, D)
After breakfast you will tour Mt. Wutai. Mt. Wutai is one of the sacred Buddhist mountains of China. It is a cluster of five peaks of which the northern peak, Yemenfeng, is over 3000 meters high and is known as the roof of northern China. Afterward, we will travel to Taiyuan.

Day 14: Taiyuan – Mt. Huangshan           Wed Oct 28 (B, L, D)
Fly to Mt. Huangshan in the Morning.

Day 15: Mt. Huangshan                      Thu Oct 29 (B, L, D)
Mt. Huangshan, with a history of thousands of years, is the collective name of a famous range of granite mountains in southern Anhui Province, and known for its four wonders of oddly-shaped pine trees, spectacular rocks, “sea of clouds” and hot springs. We ascend by cable car to the top of the mountain, the reward is a truly unforgettable experience of walking into a living Chinese ink-washed landscape painting.  We will  tour Bright Peak, Flying Rock and Cloud-dispelling Pavilion. The Cloud-dispelling Pavilion is the best place for admiring the unique rocks, hence a nick name “Unique Rock Exhibition Hall”.

Day 16: Mt. Huangshan – Beijing                     Fri Oct 30 (B, L, D)
Get up early in the morning to watch sunrise. Here, it is one of the most beautiful sunrises on earth to emerge with nature. Then we will tour the Beihai scenic area that includes Writing Brush Peak, Lion Peak, Refreshing Terrace, and Begin-to-Believe Peak. Also, enjoy the poetic and illusive atmosphere of the Black Tiger pine, Interlocking pine, and Chessboard pine. Afterward, we will take the cable car down and fly to Beijing in the evening.

Day 17: Journey Home                        Fri Oct 31 (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport and fly back home.

* Tour Fare includes land transportation, meals (with some exceptions on international arrival and departure days and as noted on the itinerary), instructional fees (for study Tour), hotels, tour guides, and all of the attractions listed on the itinerary but does NOT include the Visa (entrance permit) for China, tips for Chinese tour guides and drivers (total $120 for the tour, $170 with extension), all personal expenses such as excess baggage, travel/ medical insurance, passport, laundry, telephone, internet, etc.
**Participation in this tour requires purchase of the following flights as a group: Beijing/Datong; Taiyuan/Mt Huangshan; Mt Huangshan/Beijing.
*** For individuals whom prefer arranging their own flights to China will have to arrange their own airport transfers in China.

Registration and Payment Schedule

A Deposit of $500 per person is due with registration. Registration deadline and final balance of fee due date is August 15, 2015. The tour price is not guaranteed until we receive the deposit. After August 15, 2015, please call for availability. In order to keep the tour fee affordable, we do not accept credit cards.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Deposits are refundable (less a $50 administrative fee) if requested by August 15, 20151 Cancellation betweenAugust 15 and September 14, 2015, 50% of the trip fees are not refundable.
1 Cancellation between September 15 and October 3, 2015, 75% of the trip fees are not refundable.
1 There is no refund for cancellation within 14 days prior to departure, no-show, or early return.
